Ok so same same same......haven't lost haven't gained. Also, have not made any effort to go to the gym it's been over a month now. I just had lunch, cream of cauliflower soup and potato salad...yes i know, cream soup and starchy carby potatoes though i don't think there was any mayo on the salad. I had a wonderful fruit salad on tuesday evening at my friends house though, strawberries, pineapple and watermelon, it was delightful.
I need to get back on track and focus on my meal planning and the gym. I was talking to Jennifer the other day about feeling lightheaded which never happens to me. I wonder if it is my diet as of late. I've not had much fruit or any of my regular protein shakes which i'm normally quite vigilant about. I figure i have a few weeks left till the wedding, i shall go out with a bang. My nutition plan will be easy to follow for a 2 week span. Clearly me trying every so often for months at a time does not work but 2 weeks is certainly an attainable goal.

Everyone and their dog was at H&M on Saturday
I was at H&M at the Eaton Centre on Saturday, I went out shopping with the dude, for various things, but, inevitably, was magnetically drawn to the fabulousness that is the H&M. Anyway, we were going around making cracks about which character on the O.C. would wear which garment as we looked through the racks.
Later, as I talked to my various friends, it turned out that everyone else was there too, and so was Mischa Barton, with her dog in her purse.
What does this have to do with weightloss you ask? I bought two skirts in a size I hadn't been able to squeeze my expanding ass into in over 10 years. I can't say it's coming off on the scale, but who cares? Not me.

The Old College Try
So, I have totally veered from my diet and exercise program the last week or more because I got totally frustrated. I went forever without losing a single pound, which wouldn't have been as miserable except that my face suddenly blew up. At first I thought that maybe I just had some water retention which usually only lasts for a couple of days...this lasted for nearly 2 weeks.
Due to my frustration, I of course threw my diet to the wind and have proceeded to eat whatever I like and fortunatley for me I haven't gained a pound...thank god. However, the puffiness did turn out to be some sort of freakishly long water retention (I was running to the bathroom literally every 20 minutes for an entire day.) My face has thinned back out and someone I hadn't seen in a long time complimented me on weight loss. So I think that was the motivation I needed and will be resuming the program as of Monday.

Mediocracy at it's best
Well, i'm happy to say i have not gained....though on the downside i have not lost. I've been stagnent for weeks now. I can definately say though that i have not been trying like i was in the beginning. I have not seen the inside of my gym in almost a month as well i have not bothered to pack good lunches. Twice this week i ran over to the hospital cafeteria to get take-out. I did have crab salad on a croissant with fruit and yogurt though, so not too terribly bad, minus the mayo and croissant.
I guess i realize the wedding is coming in less than a month and what could i possibly do in that little time to change anything? I have not given up, but i've not seen any changes in the past little while, rightfully so as i've been quite lax in my attempts to be healthy. I went for my dress fitting yesterday and i do fit into the dress so that is a bonus. Now whether i will feel comfortable is said dress is a completely different story. No way!!! When i weighed 40 pounds less i did not feel comfortable in tank tops and sleeveless shirts, nothing has changed in that respect and this is one of those skirts with a separate top that is like a tube top. I just may look like a stuffed sausage roll....

Ash lost her thong in Vegas...

Not only did I eat steak dinners left and right, we had buffet dinners, we had Carl's Jr. for breakfast... And if you think the eating was bad, the drinking was worse.
Luckily, despite eating gluttonously, I had the shits so badly from all the booze and grease, I didn't gain an ounce. Ash on the other hand....

Result Time
Okay...I've managed to get myself back on track. Took me long enough...
Results for this week are 1.15%.
My only problem is that Cinco de Mayo is friday and I promised my friends that I'd actually drink because in all the weekends we've gone out, I haven't touched a drop of alcohol in over a month. I guess the key will be practicing moderation and then busting my ass in workouts over the rest of the weekend.

Results April 27, 2006
Hey kids, I'm still not back in competitive form from my orgy of gluttony in NYC, but I did lose a few pounds, and I'll be in fighting form for next week. I've been doing my physio exercises, and working out my upper body. My arms and shoulders, abs and back are coming along quite nicely, I had been increasing the number of reps I was doing, but yesterday I set the weights on the universal trainer up a notch, and I have the sore muscles to prove it today.

My healthy weekend
Since Linny has her game face on:
I was able to study this weekend for extended hours and yet I worked out and ate very well.
For two days I have had an Asian Salad for lunch - all kinds of veggies with oranges with low fat dressing. It was yummy and it was healthy.
At dinner I have had baked chicken. No bread, no french fries, no chips. Just plain chicken.
For snack I have had plain almonds. For dessert I eat cold oranges.
I also went to gym for one hour each on both Sat and Sun. On Sat, I did 15 minutes each on treadmill, cycle, elliptical and stairmaster. On Sunday I lifted weight for an hour.
I had no beer all weekend. I am feeling pretty darn good about the weekend.

Still In Shock
Let me just say that I have never been a runner. I hated it when they made us run the mile in elementary school and I've hated running throughout my adult life simply because I was never able to make it futher than 30 feet without breathing heavy and feeling like my chest was going to explode. Pathetic, I know.
That being said, today I was watching these young girls run laps around me at the track and I thought...hmmm, just out of curiosity, I wonder how far I could get without having to fall down and die. So I waited until I was alone on the field and away from watchful eyes and I started jogging. I passed my old exhaust line of 30 feet and miraculously I kept going. I swear to you...I was so surprised that I didn't know what to do with myself. I, Linny, hater of running and painfully out of shape woman...actually ran ENTIRE lap (1/4 of a mile) without stopping. I realize that may not seem much to some people but for me...this was huge. I wanted to walk a bit and try it again but a group of guys from the track team showed up to practice and I felt too self conscious so I finished my walking and left. But I can tell you for sure...next weekend i will be getting up bright and early and trying that again.

Boo Urns
I gained 2 pounds. It must have been the Taco Bell i ate for lunch on Monday at work, or perhaps the Boston Pizza i ate last night for dinner. Also could have been all the Easter chocolate i've eaten. Who knows. As well, i have not been to the gym since last Friday. It's a wonder i did not gain more than 2 pounds.

Frrrrrrozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity in New York

This chocolate was amazing, worth the hour and a half wait.

And I ate the whole thing. No booze till you finish your dessert!
I don't have a picture of it, but I ate the best roast corn of my life in a cuban place in Soho.
Needless to say, it's going to be an uphill battle for me to win this week, but I'm still trying.

Kick His Ass/And a Reminder
I can't believe that I forgot to mention this...When I was working over in the Dr.'s yard last week, we recieved some help from a guy who does some lawn work for our office. He's a nice guy and we always get along but I haven't seen him in awhile.
He came by and made a comment that I looked like I'd lost some weight. I of course smiled gratefully and said that I had...and then in one fell swoop...he ruined it all. He said, "Yeah, you're not the same chunky little lady I met last year."
What the fuck?! Chunky little lady my ass you piece of crap!
I was so pissed but I gritted my teeth and bit back all the curse words I wanted to hurl at him. Asshole.
By the way...Princess Pessimism asked me to post this link to use as a reminder to keep us on the straight and narrow....

Woo Hoo
Ok so i stepped on the scale this morning and was amazed to see that i had lost another pound. I was quite excited, mind you for all the work i've been doing i'd hoped it had been more. It seems that going to the gym and eating properly has been paying off. I did however eat in restaurants twice when i went to visit Jennifer so that may have had something to do with it. My % is .0057
At this rate i just may be able to lose about 8 more pounds before the wedding LOL

Dying
I have spent the last three days doing a shitload of yardwork for my boss and it has nearly killed me. We're talking about weeding a HUMONGOUS garden in a $500,000 home that is overtaken with weeds that are over a foot tall...shoveling wheelbarrows full of mulch to and fro and spreading it around. Carrying 5o bales of pinestraw and spreading that...my legs hurt so bad from all the bending over that it is extremely painful to even stand up. :o( At least he's paying us a lot of money.
I think all the yardwork pushed me way over. This week's percentage is 2.79%

Whatda Know
I just have to take a minute and reflect on last night at the Tavern...
Last night alone was worth all the crappy dieting and exercising. I went out with a group of my friends for the first time since I lost the weight and I have to admit that I looked good and I felt good. I got hit on soooooooo much it was crazy. Granted they were all like 23 and 24 years old but it really fed my ego and made me feel better. They kept telling me I was hot and they hung around our table all night. I went home alone (by choice) but I felt less alone than I had in a long time.
