Ash and I are challenging eachother to a Biggest Loser style weight loss competition and we want you to see all the trash talk as it happens. Here's how to calculate: Week 1: 175 lbs Week 2: 170 lbs; percent: (175-170)/175 = 2.9% Week 3: 175 lbs; percent: (170-175)/175= -2.9% Week 4: 172 lbs; percent is NOT (175-172)/175 = 1.7%; the actual percent should be (X-172)/X = (170-172)/170 = -1.2%.

Well because of your bitching i lost my win title last week. Well, there were discussions about it.
You didnt lose Mrs Ash. You are just fat is all :)
Yarutca...It's probably just the muscle mass you've added on so it's not counting on the scales. Have you been measuring yourself to tell if you've lost inches?
Don't get discouraged Yrautca, you are a serious contender, and not gaining is an achievement as well. This shouldn't discourage you, it should make you more resolved to win. Please refer back to my post on abiasa and viragia.
Think of it this way, gaining muscle causes you to burn more calories in a day, so if you take a hit one week, it will be easier to lose the next week.
I think Linny is right, try on some of your tighter clothes, measure yourself with a tape measure, those things will make you feel better about the situation.
Didn't you say that you had a scale that measured body fat vs. muscle content?
Ash,
you didn't lose your title last week, I just bitched about it. In fact, we never resolved the issue of gain then loss. I still feel that we should only count new weightloss, that way if anyone is having a bad week and they think they aren't going to win, they don't blow their next week by throwing up their hands and gaining.
Linny,
You never weighed in with your feelings on this.
Since I know everyone's original weight, I say next week you just post how much you lost and I'll do the complicated new calculations.
This seems a fair week to start since no one was negative this week and also because superbowl sunday is this week there is quite a temptation for some of us to give up on this week and gain.
Thank you sweethearts!
Jennifer...the new weightloss is fine with me. That's all I've been doing up to this point anyways...well, the one week where I actually lost a significant amount.
