yrautca rubs it in

Last week I mentioned that I was going to attempt 6 miles. Today I did it in 57 minutes.

I am not feeling sore but I am exhausted. In order to run I need carbs. Whereas on a day-to-day basis I avoid carbs, on a running day I get a sandwich at lunch. I have tried running on a low carb diet but it just doesn’t work.

Anyway, I am happy that I finished my run. My next run is on Thursday but I am not planning to run more than 3 miles.

BTW, do you know how many calories you burn when you run for 60 minutes at a 10-minute mile pace? Close to 800. I started at 10-minute mile pace for the first 10 minutes, then increased the pace to 9.13-minute mile.

Damn at this pace, I will be so hot, the fire alarm will go off just as I enter the gym ;)

You're running a ten minute mile...isn't that SLOW? hehe...just kidding Yrautca.

Good to know about the 800 calories. I went for a run last night! My route is just under 4 miles, but I'd be lying if I said I ran the whole time (lying big time).

I find this blog really intriguing.

Actually I would like to know from others whether 10-minute mile is slow or not. I go up to 9-minute after 10 minutes and sometimes even faster.

At this pace I can do a marathon in about 4 hours - thats not bad.

You should join the club rawbean.

Yeah Yrautca, I have no idea whether that's slow because the rest of the world uses kilometres.

LMAO @ Jennifer, i also haven't a clue.

Ok
1 mile = 1.609344 Km
=> 6 miles = 6 x 1.609344 = 9.656064 Km

Which mean I ran a 10K in about 57 minutes. Howzthat?

I thought the 7 minute mile was the ultimate goal for runners.

I think in marathons clinics the catagories are:

1) just try and finish the damn thing group
2) 10 minute mile group
3) 9 minute mile
4) 8 minute mile
5) 7 minute mile

again, I don't speak from experience.

Ok gimme a break fat ladies.

Yes I bragged about it and asked for it and all that crap.

But hey I RAN, yeah RAN for an hour non stop and it dont matter what speed i ranned at. I RANNED!!!!!!

anyhoo, my next goal would be to do the 10K in a shorter time period, say 45 minutes.

whatever!

Yrautca, I'm amazed that you ran. It must be quite the sight to see all your meat swaying and jiggling as you waddle down the road. Did you buy the sports bro for the purpose?

hahahaha jennifer. my body didnt jiggle as much as yours must have laughing at your own joke sitting on that chair in front of your computer.

i am amazed too. i have stuck to my routine and i feel so good. its a pity i am not getting much competition from you fatties.

10-minute miles is quite a good pace. I can't run for an hour straight and I've had much more training than you. So, you should be really proud!

I did a 15K in just under 2 hours. So, I guess that makes my pace more like 12.6 minutes per mile. You should really sign up for an upcoming race.

That's excellent! Good for you.Doing much better than me that's for sure.

We had an emotionally draining day at work that resulted in having to call the police on a patient. So we went out for beer afterwards.
:o(

Thank you for the support SS.

Linny, excuses excuses. You said you would jump on the band wagon after a few days. Now it seems it might not be such a bright idea - your jumping on anything ;)

PP, ouch. Put your fat where your mouth is and join the club.

BTW -- I just learned that to be a Marine you have to run 3 miles in 31 minutes. So, I'd say your pace is more than adequate.
